Reliquary
1989
This sculpture is made with Texas limestone, glass, wine and water. The larger glass container is filled with water and the smaller one is filled with wine. It is suspended as if floating in the water.

Reliquary II
1990
The materials used in this sculpture are glass, Texas limestone, plexi-glass, wine, railroad spike, and neon lights. The light comes from inside the stone adding a glow to the inner glass box filled with wine.

Cross
1990
The materials used for this piece are Texas limestone, glass, nails, wine-colored water. The nails are fixed inside the glass boxes that contain the water and fit into the carved stone.

Blue Pearl
1990
This sculpture is made with "cream" Texas limestone--meaning it is free of fossils--glass, antiqued copper sheet, mineral oil, water and blue food coloring. This inverted pyramid is only being held in place by the weight of the stones around each of its faces. The oil and water are contained inside the pyramid of glass.

The term 'blue pearl' refers to our innermost being or True Self.

The materials for this sculpture are Texas limestone, etched stained glass, Masonite, water and lead.

Transplant
1996
This sculpture was made for an installation at the new downtown Austin Museum of Art. It is made with dirt, roots, tree, suitcase and metal stand. It represents generations of immigrants in my family, including myself, and illustrates the carrying over of our roots to our new homeland.

This sculpture is made out of a model 11th rib, bole, 23 Kt. gold leaf and velvet pillow.
