Quarry Series #3 (diptych) 1989 oils on paper |
||||||||||
| In this piece, the artist continues the exploration of the feeling of abandonment she experienced while contemplating these pieces of discarded equipment. It spoke to her of the way our society abandons the old (as in the elderly, customs, beliefs, history and much more) and readily forgets it or ignores it even when it is part of our landscape. (Previously in the collection of Deanna Rodriguez, Austin, TX; recently traded by the artist for an icon.) | |||||||||||
